Conference dinner and marine museum tour

The conference dinner will be organised on Tuesday 6th October at 19:00 in Restaurant Daphne that is located at Forum Marinum by the river Aura. Forum Marinum is a maritime centre and a national museum specialised in merchant shipping and naval history. The conference dinner begins with a guided museum tour in Forum Marinum museum. After the museum tour, the conference dinner will be served in Restaurant Daphne.

The Forum Marinum Museum collects, maintains, researches and interprets objects, archive material and traditions related to Finnish merchant shipping and naval history. The museum also provides the visitors with exhibitions and various events. The collections of Forum Marinum consist partly of the collections originally acquired by the Åbo Akademi University Museum of Maritime History and the Turku Provincial Museum. In addition to a large variety of interesting ships and boats for over a hundred years old, the museum collection contains many fascinating marine-related objects including a steel-hulled full-rigger.
