Airports
There are two airports where you can arrive depending on your flight and airline, the Turku airport in Turku (location on map) and the Helsinki-Vantaa airport near Helsinki. If you arrive at the Helsinki-Vantaa airport, there are bus connections to Turku. There are also good connections with airport busses to Helsinki (every 20 minutes). In Helsinki you can take a train to Turku. There are direct flights as well from Stockholm, Copenhagen and Helsinki to Turku.
ICT House and parking
ICT House, where the meeting will be organised, is located at the address Joukahaisenkatu 3, 20520 Turku. It’s within walking distance, about 2 km, from the centre and the Market Square. (location on map)
The nearest car park areas are located near ICT House. Parking space is available both next to the ICT House and across the Joukahaisenkatu, opposite to the ICT House. Parking fee in these parking areas is one euro per hour, five euros per day. There is also some parking space located in Tahkonaukio. The parking fee of 12 hours in Tahkonaukio parking is one euro.

Transportation
Turku city busses run in the city area. Bus number 1 runs between the Turku airport and the harbor, and stops at the Market Square. If you want to arrive to the conference dinner in Forum Marinum (location on map) by bus, you can take bus number 1 to the harbour. Get off the bus at Fleminginkatu street. Bus number 6 runs between Vaala and Suikkila and stops at the Market Square. If you want to arrive to ICT House by bus, you can take the bus number 6 to Vaala. Get off the bus at Lemminkäisenkatu street. Please do not hesitate to ask the bus driver for further instructions.
One bus ticket costs 2,50 euros. Taxis are very reliable in Finland. A drive for example from Turku airport to centre costs about 25 euros. Please note, that no special transportation for the conference guests is organised from the city centre to ICT House or to the conference dinner.
Railway Stations
There are two railway stations in Turku, the Main Station, Ratapihankatu 37, (location on map) and the Kupittaa Station (location on map), which lies next to ICT House. There are good connections to Helsinki.
Tourist Information
Turku Touring's Tourist Information serves travellers and citizens in the centre of Turku in Aurakatu 4. Opening hours Mon-Fri 8.30-18, Sat-Sun 10-15 (Oct-Mar).
Turku for Shoppers
There is a covered market, shopping centres, department stores, small boutiques and flea markets available in Turku. Everything is within walking distance and easy to reach. You can find great service and quality products ranging from Finnish design to international brand names. The main shopping streets spread on all sides of the Market Square.
Hansa Shopping Centre has a grand department store and many small boutiques, cafés, restaurants and speciality service companies and attracts with its pleasant atmosphere. Turku Food Market, the traditional market hall, is located next to Hansa Shopping Centre. The market hall has welcomed shoppers for more than 100 years and is worth visiting. The pedestrian street has nice places to take a break and enjoy some refreshments.

Turku Castle
The Turku Castle is a tourist attraction that is over 700 years old and has been a museum for over a hundred years. The Castle has a museum, which demonstrates the history of the City of Turku with its exhibitions, events and furnished style rooms. The Main Castle has treasures from the collections on display: ceramics, jewelry, costumes, demotic textiles, furniture and toys. Visitors can explore the castle individually or join guided tours. The Museum Shop Fatabur has a wide variety of high-quality products on sale. Opening times: 1.10.2009–13.1.2010 Tue, Thu–Sun 10am–6pm, Wed 10am–8pm.
Turku Cathedral
Turku Cathedral was inaugurated in 1300 and is dedicated to the Virgin Mary and Finland's first bishop, St. Henrik. The monuments and hundreds of details tell about the history of the Finnish people. Queen Kaarina Maununtytär and many bishops and military commanders have been laid to rest under the church arches. Open daily: 16.9.-15.4. at 9-19, 16.4.-15.9. at 9-20.
Turku Art Museum
Turku Art Museum is one of the most influential institutions in the local and national art scene. The internationally respected collection of the museum comprises old masterpieces as well as important contemporary works. Opening Hours Tue - Fri 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. Sat - Sun 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Closed on Mondays.
Aboa Vetus & Ars Nova
Aboa Vetus & Ars Nova, a museum of archaeological history and modern art, is located by the river Aura. Part of the museum is the original ruins of medieval Turku which were discovered in conjunction with renovation work. Ars Nova provides a colourful contrast to old Turku.The diverse 20th century collection includes more than 500 works by leading Finnish and international artists. Selected works are displayed on the second floor of Ars Nova. The first floor is dedicated to changing exhibitions.
The Laurentius Museum Shop has a wide range of beautiful giftware, jewellery, art and museum literature. Opening times Tue-Sun 11 am – 7 pm.
